An archaelological dig at Hylton Castle in Sunderland has unearthed artefacts dating back hundreds of years. The tunnel would be going east from the castle under the flat field behind the castle.

Hylton Castle is a historic landmark near Sunderland that was built by Sir William Hylton, shortly before 1400. As with most Castles, Hylton has been changed, added to, renovated, and partly demolished over the centuries.
