He coached many outstanding teams, including the 1931 undefeated championship football team and the 1931 championship basketball team. A three-time all-conference performer, John Puelz piled up 1,955 career points, ranking him third in school history at the time of induction. Despite not playing high school football, Holsten enjoyed a highly successful collegiate career and was the first known Concordia football player to sign a professional contract. She also hit .409 with a school record 177 RBIs. Girls could become teachers and nurses, but not principals, and they didn't get tenure and weren't appointed college presidents. In addition to her golf records, she was awarded the NAIA Scholar-Athlete Award in both her junior and senior years. After earning his degree at Concordia, Oetting went on to a lifetime career as a teacher, spending most of his years in the teaching ministry at Hong Kong International School. The defensive line became known for the big, game-turning play; interceptions and fumbles from crunching tackles kept the momentum with Concordia. Brassie coached three sports every year at Concordia from 1967 to 1973, promoting the development of womens sports and playing a role in forming the Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC). He became the first athlete in school history to run the two mile in under 10 minutes and set track program standards in the two- and three-mile races. During her career, the women's golf team compiled a dual meet record of 13-4, and won the NIAC and the NAIA District tournaments twice each. A force on the football field, Baker carried the ball 617 yards his junior year and earned first team All-NAIC honors as well as honorable mention honors in the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World Herald. A top point guard in mens basketball program history, Mike Works raked in Lincoln Journal Star State College Player of the Year accolades as a senior in 1992 in addition to twice being named first team All-NIAC and three times all-district (first team in 1991-92).
